After spending some time in the Leinster academy, Dave moved to Connacht at the beginning of the 2011/12 season where he made an immediate impact making 10 starts and scoring 2 trys. Dave is fast gaining a reputation as a superb strike runner as well as a solid defender, his thumping tackle against Bairitz in December 2012 helps illustrate the point.
